< Return to Products |
PROTECTION FROM: Moisture, chemicals, abrasion, punctures, insulation breakdown, fiber migration, mildew, mold, and fungus.COATING RECOMMENDATIONS: SPC Clear is used to coat surfaces such as pre-painted metal, galvanized metal, plastic, painted steel, copper & aluminum piping, rubber, along with cement block, masonry sumps, tower basins and almost any other type of substrate material. Priming is not required, but is recommended for increased adhesion.
COATING RECOMMENDATIONS: Fibrous insulation, polyurethane foams, closed cell foams, acoustical panels, medical cushioning devices, athletic device cushioning, and seat cushions. It’s an excellent product for coating HVAC/R cabinet insulation and fibrous duct board. Very Cleanable.
BENEFITS:
- Provides moisture, chemical, abrasion, and puncture resistance
- Improves IAQ per ANSI Standard 62-2001 & OSHA 59:15968-16039
- Prevents fiber migration
- An available option for our bio-stat additive provides long-term protection
from mold, mildew and fungus.
- Offers an economical alternative to double wall construction for HVAC equipment
- Meets fire code UL94HBF
DESCRIPTION: This tough and durable solvent base vinyl coating is specially designed to seal fibrous insulation, un-skinned polyurethane foams, and closed cell foams. Insul-Coat can be enhanced with the addition of an anti-microbial biostat at time of application. With our biostat added, Insul-Coat provides long-term protection against the molds, mildews, and fungi that are sources of Legionella and sick building syndrome (SBS). Exhibits very good chemical resistance to items such as: mineral oil, saline, iodine, alcohol, alkali, acids, machine oil, urea, blood, salt air and most acids (ASTM D-1308).When dry, Insul-Coat creates a protective barrier against moisture and chemical attack and provides a tough surface membrane that resists abrasion and puncture. Insul-Coat is a cost effective replacement for **Hypalon® coating.

Bronz-Glow’s Insul-Coat Technical Data
Surface Preparation:
All surfaces to be coated must be free of all oils, grease, wax, rust, dust, loose foam particles, and loose fibers.
Use Adequate Ventilation
THREE PART APPLICATION FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION:
Optimum protection is achieved by applying Insul-Coat in three steps while the application is still wet. Since vinyl coatings have a tendency to coagulate during storage, the product should be properly sheered before application.
PART 1: The prime coat
The first coat primes the surface, particularly for porous applications. The spray should overlap and flow into the surface. Special attention should be paid to corners and edges.
PART 2: The seal coat
Immediately after priming, the seal coat should be sprayed on in a thinner layer than the prime coat and completely cover the surface.
PART 3: The finish coat:
The finish coat is applied immediately after the seal coat to increase the strength and durability of the entire application. The applier determines the final thickness of and texture of the finish coat.
