Q.How does Bronz-Glow compare to phenolic coatings?
A. Phenolic coatings have been in the market place for many years, and are fairly effective. However, phenolic coatings are only formulated to protect against a limited pH range, either an acidic (1.0 – 6.0) or alkali (9.0-14.0). This limits their effectiveness within the actual environment. There is also a “modified” phenolic that protects against corrosion over a broader range, usually 3.0-12.0. These coatings have also been formulated to have 250-400% flexibility, so they can expand and contract at the same rate as the alloy they are coating. Phenolic coatings are normally baked at 350-400° F, making repair to the coating using the same formula or process impossible. Bronz-Glow on the other hand is a single component coating that may be force-cured at 120° F, or air cured. This makes it possible to make repairs to the coating using the same coating as was originally used, for the life of the coating.

Q. How expensive is Bronz-Glow?
A. It really depends upon whom you’re speaking with and from whom they purchased our services. We have a structured pricing program and our suggested list prices are published on our web site. Unfortunately, its not uncommon for our prices to be marked-up by others anywhere from 10% to 300%. We cannot control pricing of our products when purchased through others like contractors or equipment sales offices.

To protect our customers and end users, we have created the List Prices section on this site. It really should be called the "don't pay more than this" page! We encourage you to visit our List Prices section and use these figures as a rule of thumb for your project.

Q. Where can I purchase Bronz-Glow products?
A. Many HVAC supply houses carry our products. Our Husky Green Fin Kit is available through York’s Source One Catalog., as well as Trane Parts (Part No. PA100239), Carrier’s Totaline stores, Johnstone Supply, Gemaire Distributors, Pioneer Metals, Baker Distributing, H&B, Air Systems Distributors and many more. If you cannot find Bronz-Glow products in your area, call our Product Support Line at 800-555- 6385 or 904-825-0175.

Q.Do you provide estimates and budget pricing for new projects?
A. Yes. If you are an owner architect, engineer, project designer or estimator we can provide you with list prices for whatever coating services or products you are considering. This gives you a comparison figure to help control project costs.

Q.Is your product clear when it’s applied to coils?
A. While our coating products use clear resins, we add colors to help make it easy to know your unit has been properly coated. Your application can have colors ranging from a gold shade, brownish-red, green, blue, or other colors. There may also be perceived color variations depending upon the blend, the color of the underlying surface, and how the sunlight shines on the coil at different times of the day. In most cases the color will look darker on the edges of the coil and light to a point of almost transparent at the tube and fin interface.

We generally avoid using clear or aluminum colored coil coatings because it makes it too difficult to ensure complete coverage. Bare or missed areas open the door for corrosion, and become intensified anodic cells accelerating the corrosion process.

Q.What if I want my cabinetry a different color?
A. For cabinetry we offer Bronz-Glow F-855 in both clear (so the original cabinet color shows through) and a standard gray. Cabinetry is a little different from coil coating simply because aesthetics and attractiveness are a factor, as well as factory diagrams and other information which may be present.

Q. Can Bronz-Glow coat entire units?

A. Absolutely! In fact, we recommend it for all corrosive environments. Many larger commercial customers with equipment in highly-corrosive environments such as coastal regions, chemical plants, refineries, paper mills and others, regularly ask us to coat the interior and exterior of the cabinets as well as the coil. In most cases the coils are dip coated in Bronz-Glow F-875, while the cabinet components are coated with Bronz-Glow F-860 Clear.

Q. Has Bronz-Glow has coated equipment on ships and tugboats?
A. Yes, we have coated split system condensers, air handlers and even small commercial refrigeration systems on commercial vessels including tug boats. In most cases, these are ocean-going vessels that push or pull barges to various islands in the Caribbean.
